ALTADENA PANORAMA

This photograph was taken in the Spring of 1906 from a vista point above Mount Echo looking down onto the valleys and the Los Angeles Basin. The picture was taken with a special panorama camera that could shoot 180°. The page is a very large download and may take a couple of minutes to load on slower systems (approximately 114 seconds at 28.8 kbs). The photo is optimized and sliced for gradual downloading, but please exercise patience if it does not load immediately. It may not download at all on some proprietary browsers.

A special thanks goes to Charles Seims, author of Mt. Lowe, Railway in the Clouds, for his allowing me to bring this tremendous photograph to you. This photograph is displayed on a full foldout in his book.

It is 3,587 X 550 pixels which means it will more than likely have to be scrolled to the right for complete viewing.
